You don’t require an internet connection to reach the 10.0.0.2 admin login page, but you need to ensure that the router is connected to your device (PC, laptop, etc.) either wirelessly or with an Ethernet cable.
To ensure that the router’s IP is 10.0.0.2, check its backside or the box it came in. Otherwise, follow the steps:
- Open Command Prompt from the Start menu and enter ipconfig
- Look for the section that says Local Area Connection
- You’ll find the router IP labeled as Default Gateway underneath that section
Now, use the following guide to help you access the 10.0.0.2 admin console:
- Ensure that the device connected to the router
- Open your browser
- Enter 10.0.0.2 or http://10.0.0.2 in the address bar – remember that these are all zeros
- Enter the default credentials on the login page to access the 10.0.0.2 setup page
- Possible usernames for your router could be blank, root, or admin
- The password field could be left empty, or try beadmin, root, or epicrouter
- If none of these work, check the device or its box for login info; otherwise a quick Google could help you
Once you have access to the 10.0.0.2 admin panel:
- Change DNS, i.e., 10.0.0.2 to another private address to avoid conflicts
- Assign or change username and password of the 10.0.0.2 admin dashboard or Wi-Fi connection
- Set parental controls and user restrictions, etc.
If you face issues connecting to the 10.0.0.2 setup page, do the following:
Ensure that your device is connected to the network.
Be very careful when entering 10.0.0.2, http://10.0.0.2, or https://10.0.0.2 —remember these are zeros and not the letter o.
If the default credentials have been changed, and you don’t remember them, do a hard reset by pressing the small button on the router, hold it for a few seconds.
If the browser still shows with an error page, use a different browser or delete cookies and cache of current browser and try again.
If nothing works, get your router checked by an expert.
